CHINA UPDATE

Advanced Engine Components Limited ("ACE" or "the Company") has five active natural gas ("NG") engine development programmes in China. Three of these development programmes are with First Auto Works group ("FAW") (www.faw.com) and two are with Weifang Weichai Peterson Gas Engine Co Ltd ("Weichai") (www.weichai.com).

As part of these programmes eight NG vehicles, six buses and two trucks, incorporating ACE’s NGVS, will be commissioned in March and April 2006. These vehicles will all be used for customer demonstration and evaluation in preparation for commercial orders.

Two ACE/FAW 6.6 litre NG engines have been built into buses, at the FAW coach and bus body plant in Dalian, for final commissioning and customer demonstration purposes. Final commissioning will be completed in March/April 2006.

A 6.6 litre ACE/FAW NG engine and a 7.1 litre ACE/FAW NG engine have been built into coal carting trucks for final commissioning and demonstration to customers in Inner Mongolia. Final commissioning is expected to be completed in early March 2006.

Three 7.1 litre ACE/FAW NG engines are being built into buses for demonstration to FAW customers in Chengdu and Luzhou, Sichuan Province. These cities are part of the Chinese twelve clean cities program. These three buses will also be demonstrated to a delegation of prospective purchasers, from a Bangladesh bus company, visiting FAW in March/April 2006.

The prototype ACE/Weichai 9.7 litre NG engine has been run in and tested. The engine is currently being installed, in a bus, at the Wuxi Bus Corporation and will be commissioned in April 2006.

In preparation for commercial orders, ACE, in conjunction with FAW, has commenced building a data base of existing FAW customers, developing a Beijing based website, designing brochures, parts lists and other marketing and support paraphernalia. This market support will assist Dalian Diesel’s 144 distributors, 19 logistic centres and more than 300 operators using FAW/Dalian Diesel trucks and buses throughout China.

ACE will deliver a further two 6.6 litre and one 7.1 litre ACE/FAW NG engines to its joint venture partner Automobile Corporation of Pakistan ("ACP"). ACP will build two engines into buses and one into a truck for demonstration to ACP’s customers in Pakistan.

ACE, together with its business partners in China and Pakistan, has clearly moved from the development phase to the commercialisation phase.
