Key Company Strategies

AEC is guided by a vision of excellence of product, people and customer support and the innovative use of technology to build a profitable company.

The Company has invested over $27 million in research, development and commercialisation of its electronic fuel injection and engine control systems. We are proud of our track record in technological innovation, having secured patent applications worldwide and having 650 Natural Gas vehicles on the road worldwide. We continue to refine and enhance our products and systems as we enter new markets.

The advantage of having a research and development capibility and proactive people is that AEC is able to modify and enhance its engine systems to meet specific customer and manufacturer requirements.

We have devised and implemented innovative operational structures that encourage both employees and customers to participate in the development of engine systems, ensuring customers get the results they desire.

Expand into new markets to sell our products

Our unique engine systems technologies have applications in many automotive markets.

Substantial progress has been made towards the further commercialisation of the patented AEC Natural Gas Vehicle System (NGVS). The company continues to develop strategic alliances with leading Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) of engines by which dedicated natural gas engines are developed for sale. Sales of the engines are promoted by co-marketing in the OEM's country and by AEC forming strategic marketing alliances with partners to market these low cost, low emission, high performance engines in target regions.

AEC also continues to develop its own patented components within its NGVS to offer for sale as part of its system or as components to other systems developers.

Aim global work local

With the AEC NGVS product range, we recognise that the most profitable opportunities lie in serial production with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

In order to have our components and systems considered at this level, we worked firstly with local fleet operators and customers in Australia to undertake engine development programs and achieve successful on road results.

This approach has been successful with our AEC NGVS and we currently have 645 buses worldwide including over 600 Renault Natural Gas engined Irisbus buses which have operated in 22 cities in France since 2002 and covered over 45 million kilometers.

The successful implementation of our technology and the superior level of customer service and support has resulted in AEC winning contracts in China with major vehicle and engine manufacturers First Auto Works and Weichai which are planned to lead to volume serial production and profitable operation in 2006.
